AND this morning, I tuned into the ABC Rad Nat's 'By Design' hosted by the pom, Alan Saunders, who went to issues about the recent floods in Australia.
Dutiful as ever, I challenged them on the issues they NEVER go to, about land distribution.

'Cities, Floods and Land Distribution'
(1253 words)
Email to Alan Saunders of ABC Radio National's 'By Design'.
Happy New Year.
This morning's program about floods and cities ranged over a few worthy points about making cities flood-proof, but, from a social reformist's view, missed the underlying factor of the distribution of the land upon which everyone depends.
As said, since the first cities, Humans have constructed them near water sources, commonly by rivers, or lakes, and have put-up-with the occasional floods.
When cities were first made manifest, the distribution of land for our various purposes was not an issue. Populations were very low, with exceptions, compared to the last 1, 2, 3 or more hundred years, as were the amount of 'industries' and other Human activities.
Now, we have to consider those factors, which is why councils and larger governments are obliged to outline 'zones', such as for industry, for residential, commerce, play, agriculture and... areas just unsuitable for any fixed, permanent occupation. Like flood plains.
As capitalistic commerce has become integral in most everything we do, from provision of utilities, through provision of foods, through to provision of land, for whichever purpose, logic, economics, and Wisdom have been forced to take a back seat to greedy profiteering.
So now anyone who comes into possession of larger tracts of land, however appropriated, no matter where they are located, is allowed to capitalise on the 'on-selling' of the land to anyone wealthy enough, or stupid enough to put themselves into debt to the evil banking system for a 'death-pledge' or 'mortgage', so-as to own their own patch of dirt.
There are factors, such as what new owners want to use the land for, as in suiting council zoning classifications etc. However, where current zoning layouts fail, is in just such topical considerations like flood plains.
Victoria's recent bush fires, another example of where it is necessary to plan occupation around.
But in regard to floods, and proofing occupied lands, thus the Human inhabitants from inundation and potential disaster, usually the lower land is sold to poorer people, so they are left to occupy 'unstable' land in terms of 'elevation'.
'Land Distribution', and the owners unquestioned right to sell-off any land they can, to others who are limited financially from buying 'up-the-hill', away from potential inundation, and loss of belongings and accommodation, and being drowned in misery, is not taken into consideration by laws or by land speculators.
(Remember the legal issues that came from a shonky realtor selling the gullible, quarter-acres of 'land' on an island off the Brisbane coast, and the owners too late finding out they had bought land which was offshore and thus permanently under-water?)
Indeed, all Australian land sale laws are determined, quite wrongly, by the force of elite foreign land speculators (think 'E.L. & C Bailleau', whence Victoria's current Premier 'big Ted' descends), usually themselves either in politics (refer; 'The Land Boomers' by Michael Cannon, published in 1966 by Melbourne Uni Press!), or up the trouser-legs of politicians, and not by Wise, considerate, truly economic and thus 'environmental' issues.
So, future planning for Human occupation of land, has to factor into design, considerations such as floods, and the intelligent distribution-and-use of land.
As it is, a farmer owning land on the outskirts of a town or city, who is being pushed out by habitation-growth, and chooses to sell their property, is allowed to flog it off to anyone who can afford it, without such things as 'flood-zone' limits.
As Australians are culturally fooled into thinking that life is best when they own their own house and/or acreage, we usually do anything to scrape together the funds.
But this caper is a fools-game, because the debt incurred, in such as the mortgage, and the immoral usury of interest rates, becomes more of a weight around our necks than being the provider of our own little Shangri La.
Besides, as discussed this morning, Australians have the biggest houses, which means, I guess, that we have the lowest number of occupants-per-house. This interprets to mean that we use the most land per capita, merely to feel OK at home.
Clearly, this is the most inefficient, thus the most uneconomical, thus the least sustainable culture of occupying land.
This shows in the devastation our suburbs are inflicting upon the wider natural ecological systems.
Not to mention the psychological maladies that manifest in these nuclear family houses, because we are all separated away from the 'Extended Family' of our own Community, Tribe and nation.
Indeed, it may be that most all of the western world's psychological and psychiatric services are brought into existence merely to cater for these totally unnatural ways of living?
Ask any 'Homeless' person, and they'll tell you that the world is a shithole full of singular, isolated delusions, built-up from our deeply erroneous 'western' culture of cutting us off from the inherent 'Balance' found in the Extended Family.
In each and every nuclear family, one 'king of the castle' typically 'Dad' (in mine, it was 'mum'), is firstly, malformed in his beliefs about being the boss, from his own cultural, small-family upbringing, and secondly is not prevented, by the Wisdom of the larger group of an Extended Family, from enforcing their own limited ideologies upon the (battered) wife and traumatised kids.
These are results from placing land distribution in the hands of narrow-minded, crapitalist speculators on everyone's most basic Human Right, and need, for land.
All of the above, give weight to the fundamental economic and social need for LAND (and Taxation) REFORMS.
There's not a politician in Australia who is not aware of this basic fact.
Even the tyrant John Howard admits that the best, most efficient method of taxation, is the 'Economic Rent' for government revenue.
So, why does your fine 'By Design' and other ABC programming never 'go there'?
OH! the Zionist IMF/ILO Freemason/Catholic global cabal of land-grabbers!
Thank your CEO Mark Scott for keeping us all so dumbed-down, will you?
As an addendum, it should be said, that the nuclear family home, is solely a fabrication of western elites in industry as well as in land ownership.
Because, crapitalism, as you know, depends upon an ever-expanding market, or ever-expanding demand. So, the more households, with as small a number of tenants as possible, the more of each product can be sold.
'White goods' like fridges and washing-machines, etc., sold to each and every house, make trillions for the manufacturers, but incur the most cost to both each small, nuclear family, and more importantly, to the environment, from production, from energy-use, and from disposal.
Same-same with autos, televisions, air-conditioners, heating appliances, etc., etc., etc.
So it goes with every product, such as bathroom facilities, kitchen appliances, and entertainment products and gizmos each single-family needs so they can get-up-each morning, wash, have breaky, commute to work, mainly to afford somewhere to retreat into, so they can, in some security and comfort, sleep, have breaky, wash, and prepare for work the next day.
Indeed, it is because of the most inefficient, thus, most uneconomic housing models (quote Nobel-Prize-winning Economist Paul Klugman, “western housing models are one of the greatest cultural disasters of history” paraphrased) that we have to commit our lives and sanity to slaving at the mill, day-in-day-out, year-after-year, life-after-life.
All fast-tracking us and the planet down the sewer!
Were we, on the other hand, Rightminded and Wise about how we live and share the complete environment, we would also not have the myopic dysfunctional cultural belief systems which have us afraid to share the land and our own lives with a larger family, to maximum efficiency.
Nor therefore the desperate need to acquiesce to speculative market pressures of ever-rising land prices, and for the poorer of us, having to resign ourselves to live under the waterline!
All Praise the Eternal Wisdom of the Immortal Aborigine, and their Wise and Fine Extended Family systems!
Cheers,
Only once has anyone at the ABC given me recognition for the issues I raise with them.
Usually, they are ever-ready to plagiarize, and say nought.
The only one who did actually read on air one of my letters was in fact, Good Ol' Alan hisself!
So cheers Alan, but I don't expect this'n'll be read, 'cause it's a tad long, say what ol' Chum?
