Stressed, yes, but how "sick" is Garrido, in a sick world?

The release from 18 years of imprisonment for Jaycee, and for her two daughters, is a very revealing story.

1st, it reveals some part of the “underbelly” of American society, with reports telling that the suburb where Jaycee was held, abounds in resident convicted sex-offenders.

In this, one might ask about the causes behind sex-offenses in general, but that people in the USA develop to construct these type of beliefs, such that Phillip Garrido took Jaycee into his own world, of what he believed would make a better adult than Jaycee might otherwise have become.

Behind all these, and other far more sinister and “weird” abductions, kidnappings, etc., lies the simple fact that Americans are, because of the “individual liberty” or “look-after-yourself” social culture, left to find food and a roof, laughter and love in a competitive often fearsome and ruthless world, so forming all manner of dubious ideologies and lifestyle-beliefs along the way.

Added to any “variances” from whatever is the best and Wisest and safest lifestyle, are the plethora of misleading, popularly-condoned yet legally and ethically corrupt beliefs people are forced or conned to follow, from television, media, government and corporate advertising.

Charles Manson, Reverend Jim Jones, the Wako Texas group who were blown away, the more recent fundamentalist sect accused of polygamy, but as well, most all families securely interred in their own “nuclear family home” have formed their own brands of “ideology” on what is the safest most rewarding way to live in the amazingly diverse American nation.

That Jaycee and her two daughters are well-educated and “internet savvy” indicates that some aspects of Phillip Garrido's intentions for Jaycee, and then for her and his, two kids, were possibly NOT sinister and totally “warped” away from seeing things and the world around us, as they really are?

It doesn't take much for anyone to experience society - worts-and-all - and then decide that “another way” to raise kids is essential, if the kids are to not turn out to be common suburban garden psycho's with guns, drugs, alcohol, rampant sex, endemic crime, government tyranny, debauchery, mass indoctrinating media, etc.

So, Garrido done wrong, it must be said. But the proof is in the pudding of how Balanced, educated, and even “Wise” Jaycee, AND HER TWO DAUGHTERS have turned-out to be?
When compared to safe, free persons, females of their ages, growing-up in mainstreet USA, vulnerable to all types of socially and personality distorted ideologies, beliefs, perspectives, perversions and behaviors, the isolation may well have been a boon for Jaycee to grow-up in, from 11 years old-on.

It will be interesting to watch the mainstreet American media and publicity-stunters condemn Garrido and his wife, when he may, not forgetting his alleged psychological problems and convictions, actually have done Jaycee, a lonely favor.
In such situations, how does society and in the end, the courthouse, sum-up by how much Jaycee has suffered, or missed-out-on?

If Jaycee was frothing-at-the-mouth, acting with obvious mental and physical dysfunctions, we would not have to ask these questions of Garrido and wife Nancy.

Nor would we have any impetus to ask questions of the dominant culture she was hidden away from?

A delicate assessment, both of Mr and Mrs Garrido, and of Jaycee and her daughters, is a must, to be sure?
