I just saw the ABC website 'The Drum' article. Due to high energy levels and a low battery, I couldn't read it, but guessed the gist, and flung them this....:
Their income comes first to most everyone nowadays. Journos, reporters, editors, executives the same.
Truly Honorable Principles are dead, dudes.
People can program themselves to say anything now, and can fool anyone that they believe it.
Especially when words make you money.
Besides, which media house has NOT an agenda to force certain facts to be overlooked, edited-out, censored.
Take Aunty ABC, daughter of Rupert and the IMF executive.
Distraction media is a highly paid art today, to go around the fundamentals about what we all face in the near future, and to avoid reporting on what's happening now.
And, to keep everyone on 'paranoia-alert', thus afraid to speak-up about REALPolitik Issues.
As the staid older gen readers-viewers falls off the twig, the next-gens are better able to adapt to the times, and are tiring of the old guard and old fashions of same-same news in different disguises.
But news is made to a set formulaic pattern, and everyone knows heaps is not getting aired in the 5-minute bulletins or the 6.30/7pm broadcasts.
Look at the ABC board. Execs of foreign banks and offshore agenda.
ABC counts on Murdoch's Newspoll for political news stories.
Mark Latham and a few others, openly knock the pollsters and their questions. But what critique and discounting is done by the media of blatantly shonky, biased polls.
Keeping their jobs comes first, and not raising the evil eye of anyone they know is crook, stops reporters asking straight hard-hitting questions, and allows highly paid right-wing politicians to say anything to cause grief to government 'of the people, by the people'.
