It's endemic to all forces trying to maintain utterly corrupt laws, nationwide, nay-worldwide.
Bigger than Overland's dome, it's seeds lie in the International Monetary Fund IMF, and that dog of a power's earlier incarnation, the British East India Company.
They've been white-anting all respectable coppers and politicians here since 1808. So it is no surprise that the Vic coppers (and the rest in other states) are ever under fire, from the many factions within the force, covering their own arses, and from every self-interested body with any influence across politics and the civil services.
Curing these parochial problems is too big for Baillieu, Overland or even Obama, without a United effort globally, such that everyone is able to speak-out, not about crime gangs on their back doors, but about the broad and urgent need to face up about BAD LAWS.
Bad laws which can only be 'upheld' (HA!) and/or 'defended' for so long, until eventually, big parts of the machinery have to break.
The federal government, or military, have to bight the bullet and just demand Rectitude, via a Truth and Reconciliation Commission!
Unable to write more to that comments page of the Herald-Sun, I add here that on top of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, there has to be, like there was in South Africa when they dismantled Aparteid, a complete AMNESTY for all who wish to speak.
It cannot be anyone's want for retribution - WE'RE ALL GUILTY of some fucking thing in this world/life/tea-party.
So for any Justice, we have to get over it, and all come-out about how much BAD LAWS, and everyone KNOWS I'm talking BAD LAND LAWS, are damaging the whole sheebang. and the heebang! and the itbang!
