Product Dumping & Planned Obsolescence

Product Dumping & Planned Obsolescence

The Machine?

Sentiment by Communities toward living 'Greener', has soon to address the little-PROTESTED-against 'product dumping', which caters to the worst aspects and cases of 'planned obsolescence' cheapest quality consumer products.

Surely one of the least 'environmental' aspects and, long term, capital-intensive by-products or, 'aftermaths' of 'product dumping' is that this valueless range of consumer goods too soon fails the purchaser, and so cheap, not worth repairing nor even returning to the typical 'K-mart'-type superstore, (product-dumping's major culprit) is discarded first to the back shed or cupboard, only to end as Council landfill?

Also, never are the let-down customer-purchaser-consumer's energy, time, fuel and money considered, let-alone 'peace-of-mind', when the cheap item fails and has to be returned, for replacement. When one has to return the busted item, the counter assistants try to palm-off a positive attitude because they are doing everything they can to delude us into feeling like we just had a 'win' over the system because they honor our receipt and hand-over ANOTHER piece of crap!

When, all things considered, the overall personal, Community and Environmental costs are tallied, it will be blatantly obvious that Australia cannot allow such 'negative' products to be imported and sold, and that all People, if we want to correct our 'Enviro-habits', must get-off our fat-cells and 'PICKET' these major multinational corporate, and 'desperate-to-compete' smaller retail franchises etc., , to demand a STOP to the importing of their 'zero-quality' crapitalist products.

Would 'K-mart' survive?

Any Stand by Australians against such corporate (and foreign governments') profiteering, which is proven as being against Australians' and against our Environmental best interests, would have to include a 'multi-pronged assault' on this eco-enemy of product dumping and it's crap quality products.

But HELLO!?!?! Where can an Aussie go to buy product which is NOT subject to this demon of planned obsolescence???

Pretty much EVERY retail outlet city-and-rural, small business or corporate, Australian or multinational, is/are stocked with the cheapest crap they can flog us!

Where can an Aussie go to buy product which is not there only because the retailer has no integrity, or 'merchant ethic', but sees a profit if they can fool us into buying it?
The rude facts are that Australia and Australians are drowning in foreign bottom-of-the-range zero-quality junk products, almost as if Australia has been designated by the IMF to be the test-nation for both crap retailing ethics, and a test nation of just how stupidly, materialistically gullible a people can be made to be!

ALAS! 'Twas ever-thus in Brit-Eurapean retail!

Recommended reading Bertolt Brecht's “Three Penny Novel”, transcribed by Brecht from his “Three Penny Opera”, written in 1928, an adaptation of a play written by one John Gay some 200 years earlier, called “Beggar's Opera”, which was, even then, written-up as 'a biting satire on decayed capitalism'. Well..., that's what's written on the dust cover of the 1975 paperback edition! NEVERTHELESS...., a 'shocking' and brilliant book, indeed!

So..., therefore, and however...., about actually DOING SOMETHING about the terror of planned obsolescence and imported crap product dumping.....

First, the problem has to be brought to the attention of the governments which 'house' those manufacturers.

It is their business how they curtail unsound methods of making a profit, but, as China is possibly the global 'powerhouse' of cheap consumer goods, like Japan was following their repatriation and inclusion into the world trade marketplace after world war 2, then China and coy have a responsibility to the whole of the planet to address this.

China is doing her best to Green-Up, but this level of manufacturing low-quality consumer goods for export, is basically what has driven their economic rise from the classified 'third world' or 'undeveloped nation' status. (That, and their Wise application from the 1940s or so, of Land Tax for government revenue.)

It appears China, and other 'third world nations' have some way to travel yet, until they make it, nationwide, to 'first world status'.

But ALAS? Is there a nation on earth which is all first world? I think not! Switzerlandenenen, the most likely?

(A further, and in fact allied project, would be for Australian students to investigate the Swiss 'system of government'. Inquiries will bring very interesting results, I'm sure, and thus informed, future voters here will know a lot more about where our own corruption club called 'politrixxxx' persists in failing us!)

Of course, one has to question exactly what 'first world status' is, because it's clearly a 'value-judgement' made by those who stand to profit most from basically, ripping-off consumers who are lured to desire a superficial, generally trivial and culturally-and-environmentally-destructive materialistic lifestyle.

There's no doubt that many non-western, non-Christian, non-white Peoples and Nations, and more than a few of their elites, regard the global force for an over-consumptive, over-materialistic and anti-environment culture as 'ungodly', and as many no doubt see that such ambitions are false, foolish and hollow, and as never giving the consumer the Satisfaction-big-S, their pre-colonialist, pre-Christian Ways did.

However no-one from outside any of these third world nations can stop such 'progress', or tell those nations which make cheap quality stuff to desist.

It does not however, mean that there should not be any lobbying of those governments addressing the dangers long-term, to the environment, and thus to the Masses, from their turning a blind eye to this callous competing for incomes.

The reasons for such a phenomenon actually have some 'global egalitarianism' bases to them.

However, these have seen first world nations, America, Britain and Australia perhaps most effected, lose their own manufacturing companies and industries, and amongst other deeply flawed economic policies by major British, Eurapean and USA corporations and governments, have led them/us into our present employment, social, economic environmental and material crises.

So, first, any 'anti-dumping' organisation has to put the evidence against cheap goods-making and their product-dumping commerce to it's source nations and their governments, such as China, so-as to increase the government's efforts for Green industry in every field.

Secondly, at our border gates, at Customs, and in their departmental headquarters, other branches of a multi-pronged assault on this eco-enemy have to grow to force a national review of all duties, tariffs, taxes and importation laws. Because these have an effect on how easy it is to import junk product, and usually involve one kind of bribe or another, either to senior departmental officers or higher into the political arena. Bribes paid to ensure such debates are never tabled in our parliaments.

But that's politrixxx!

And thirdly, perhaps most crucially, which also translates as 'most beneficial for Local economies thus Local Communities thus personal/social harmony and happiness', is to set the foundations, the LOCAL foundations, via Local Democratic Autonomy, most suitable for Local Good-to-High Quality consumer products to be manufactured Locally.

If I knew a Local manufacturer or factory which made a product I want or need, if I knew that they'd still be in business and still Local in 10 years-unto-retirement, who made a product guaranteed to 1, be robust, 2, be serviceable locally, and 3, have it's maker and employees communicating-contributing members of the Local Community, only a couple of kilometres away, to most easily, efficiently-thus-to-me-economically give, for service, repair, maintenance, updating etc, plus if I knew there would be between us a Quality business and personal association, I would spend 10 times the price of any crap K-mart product.

Over recent years, our federal governments have sought to halt the import of crap product, but obviously to little effect.

Larger international corporate deals are secretly struck by-the-hour against curtailing product-dumping between cheap product-making nations and consumer-nations, so any announcements by government are 'minimalist' in being effective, when they tell us they are addressing this/these disastrous affairs.

And clearly, if anyone goes to the likes of Kmart, they see first hand the extent of such corporate disregard for their customers, the extent of such corporate disregard for any product quality or standards, and the extent of such corporate disregard for the Local and/or larger society and environment. Not to mention the corporate disregard for making the nation's, and the global laws better, so that none of these issues arise in the first place?

Another aspect that has to be confronted and exposed, is the effect of consumer-nation government impositions on Local producers and their products locally made, and imported, through the many and varied import laws, tariffs, duties and taxes, etc.

While these added costs to things like imports are purported to go to our government coffers, I'm skeptical.

I think it's far more likely that much more than any proportional imposts placed upon imports to Australia go almost immediately offshore and into the vaults of those who run the biggest corporation on Earth, which in essence, actually owns Australia - the International Monetary Fund, the IMF.

This, to my mind, is one major reason why good quality imported product is prohibitively expensive for many middle class and most lower class Australians, and is why therefore, they/we are forced to resort to buying crap product.

Therefore, there are plenty of sound reasons why everyone should take to the streets, preferably, to begin with, outside any Local stores which flog us the junk-junk-junk-junk, and 'PICKET-and-PROTEST' against their insane multinational corporate policies.

Pertinent to this latest rant-whinge-and-frothing, has been last week's federal parliamentary debate on introducing a 'Carbon Tax'.

I think it was Greg Combey of the ALP federal government front bench, who suggested that the carbon tax should, or could be applied to imports.

Therefore, if a carbon tax is suitable to apply to imports, then it fits well that it be applied to this most rogue brand of imported product, surely?

But before any government is likely to get up and impose effective restrictions to the quality or standards of our imported purchases, thus ensuring an improvement of our quality of life generally, it's up to the Masses to start the ball rolling, by PICKETING and PROTESTING against these offensive stores and their callous retailing plans.

Out in Australia's rural regions, so-called 'Locals' jump-up-and-down about how government policies have decimated rural village and town populations, and because there is little or no work being done to the region, the rural population and thus everyone's quality of life goes down.

But never to we hear on the news or current affairs these rural locals getting to the core causes of such problems.

Most of them are all too happy to take a job down a nearby mine, or on a nearby mono-culture mass-production farm, all owned by billionaires and/or foreign multinational corporations, in a small ancillary business catering to the demands of the filthy mega-corps, etc., (“...for every dollar you make, the corporation makes seven...”) or to make-out they are 'self-employed' while in fact they're chained to an offshore corporate banking 'mortgage' or other bank debt/overdraft or excessive credit-rating, not-to-mention their shallow and utterly 'plastic' lifestyle.

None of them make an issue out of the fact that their region's failing conditions are stomped down on them by the same megacorps who own most of the land and industry, and which offer them the classic 30-pieces-of-silver to, in silence, betray their own Community, their own Country, and their own Souls?

Australia's rural 'Communities' have never seen such fractured, degrading and unsocial attitudes.

Or, if they, the Locals, are useless in any REALWork, they are encouraged by their own and the foreign corporations' stupidity to engage in 'tourism' to up their personal income so-as to afford a new 4x4, or some other commodity useless and even antithetical to the well-being of the larger village or region.

Certainly, across the Aussie bush, there is little or no effort by the Locals to get to the bottom of their Local problems, by taking-to-task these foreign, multinationals who set the rules so against our own national security and short-and-long term personal and community satisfaction.

Most of the time, the vast majority of any nation, do nothing substantial for the well being of more than their own.

Every politically-Progressive shift or any other type of reform to bad government, and to bad corporate behaviour begins with a few 'fanatical' stirrers.

Such is the Rectitude and Honor of these 'Whistleblowers' and 'Leakers' that they and their Selfless Work are being recognised more and more each day across the world by governments large and small, who are introducing laws demanding the respect and protection of those who act to expose to the public, corporate or government tyranny.

But it's usually not until the media or larger Social Justice Movement, Et Al, takes an interest, that any effective percentage of the populace get involved, and either win the support of government, through the evidence, or at elections, scare the booth out-of-them, that policies are reviewed and corrected. But again, never are policies truly and fully corrected.

Typically, those who stood up and made a noise against this type of corporate criminal behaviour, become either unnoticed or a statistic, once any movement grows to notoriety.

Or, like Private Bradley Manning, and Julian Assange, are ostracised to the extreme, when in fact, they deserve the Highest Respect and Recognition from government and the citizenry.

As the adage goes “Think Global, Act Local”!

Acting Locally in addressing this unaddressed toxin in our culture, of foreign mega-corps dumping zero-quality products onto our retailer's shelves, and before too long, onto our shed's 'broken-junk-shelves', demands that Locals - LOCALS - get together and research, collate, scribe and print their own appraisals and investigations as to the crimes committed by Kmart, Woolworths, Dick Smiths, and every other junk-importer, then paint-up a few placards and posters, to hand-out and hold-up outside the offending... offensive stores.

Crucially effective is tandem with these activities, is setting-up, LOCALLY, a 'Media Unit', which produces media releases for local and wider media publications. This, for me anyway, is fabulously exciting, and is more so for children, especially when they win a response from media and thus, from their reading/watching public. In doing this, it's important that a Quality Club and it's Media Unit are ready and toughened to handle the negative media, which the largearse megacorps have down pat, for whenever they become a target of the Public's Conscience.

Just remember, with tenacity, and the preparedness to endure for a while, before long, 'ANY publicity is GOOD publicity!'

And if you're literature, chants, public discourses, posters, announcements, placards and media interviews are also, of the essential Quality, victory over (this) evil, will be 'a given'!

Were one or a number of the worst corporate offenders targeted, at each or a significant number of their retail outlets, it would become a national, newsworthy and thus political issue in no time, and were the LOCAL PICKETS to Grow, major changes..., corrections, to many related fields like duties, tariffs, taxes, importation laws and user-pays carbon accounting would sail through the incredibly unAustralian federal and state Liberal/National parties and Oppositions' 'obstructionist' stonewall.

But, it all starts with YOU!

Which is why I know Australia is ROOTED!

As it is clear that most if not all of our personal psychological and psychiatric 'issues' have their seeds in either or both 'culture and parents', then it should also be clear that any parents who disregard these types of calls to Democratic Action against bad corporate and government practices, are betraying their own children, and their own Nation.

Taking this further, it becomes clear that it is the responsibility of school teachers to engage their students in this type of issue, if only to encourage them to investigate such corporate/environmental crimes - product-dumping and planned obsolescence - and to inspire them to be effective on their Local scenes, against the bleak future forced on us all by those dark global, borderless, machine-men institutions.

A small group of students do not need to be church-schooled to get together weekly or such, to plan the tack of their approach.

Research-research-research is the key to success.

Another word for 'research' is 'preparation'.

Any expert in any field will tell you that for success '….it's all in the preparation!'

So who, from any school, primary, secondary or tertiary, cannot read-up on 'the issue', and organise a Local PICKET?

Only those who are lazy, unintelligent, selfish or are paid-off or howled-down by their employers/parents/governments.

Wake-Up Australia!

Prove to your children that you are not the lazy selfish bastards more ready to lick the corporate backside than care about the kids' future!

To end with more mellow sentiments about those multinational corporations like Kmart, Woolworths, (who own) Dick Smiths, etc., I can not deny that they do provide us with goods which are sometimes excellent value. I'm wearing a pair of jeans from Kmart which cost only about AUS$15.00. They do the job well, and seem to be robust enough, as are the other clothing articles I bought at Kmart early last year. But, I had to be 'discerning'!

While clearly in ideological opposition to such crapitalist marketplaces, and while their existence relies purely upon a large-enough sector - class - of society to stay, or be kept poor, so they cannot afford better quality, the largemarts have their product retailing down-pat so much that they always have some quality in their stores, so-as to deflect or lessen any bad reactions to the other zero-quality product.

Nevertheless, one main reason why such stores survive and prosper, is that our desires and fashion trends are set by those far above us, and who are usually in close contact with those who 'set-the-trend' in retailing in the first place, which lure us to believing that in order for us to survive in this culture, we need to acquire ANY product which helps us appear 'into' the deadly materialism of the times and of the social sette, most appealing to each of us.

While we blindly and blithely let ourselves be seduced victims of tyrannical consumer crapitalism, nothing any largemart can sell us will stop us all from drowning in the devil's shithole - coming to a megamall near you - SOON!

May I suggest that a, or a string of Local 'Quality Clubs' be established to address this/these dumping and planned obsolescence issues?

Locals, doing a bit of research into any retailer who sells garbage, then calling together, a Local Team who are prepared to discuss the issue, refine their collective thoughts and whatever is put to writing, dialogue with the shop-owners firstly - LOCAL - about how the retailer can improve the quality of what they sell, (it, the Quality Club concept, does not want to put enterprising locals who run the gauntlet of the ruthless marketplace, out of business. Rather, such Quality Clubs should also exist to improve a Local's business income, thus hopefully, improve their want to participate in similar and other less-related Community Activities and events), calling together a Local Team to raise Local awareness about the Local and Global problems arising from this 'imported landfill' phenomenon, and to picket or lobby whomever is involved, both in the creation of the problem, but also in the resolution of the problem.

School kids, even GOVERNMENT SCHOOL kids, could do all of this! And, it would not be any imposition on their parents' time or pocket to lend a hand, or a dollar or two.

But perhaps most motivating is that, such projects are a lot of fun, and bring fantastic rewards for all involved, and bring excellent preparation of the youths' minds for adulthood, so that, they become naturally discerning between Quality and crap, and know what is good for them and their Tribe, Et Al.

If parents fail to give to such as this little-large, micro-macro, Local-Global Cause, they are failing their kids, and theirs, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera......

Telstra will have to cut jobs.

20101028

Telstra will have to cut jobs.

Years ago I heard about the extra-cheap internet telephone service called 'Skype', and when I finally got a laptop and wireless broadband, subscribed.

It is a very good service, at an extremely good price!

And a HOORAY! To that, many say!

The only I have reservations about Skype, is that it is owned and based in Eurape's Luxembourg.

Nothing too much against that Fiefdom, more just that there appears to NOT be an equivalent company and service in Australia.

Surely there are no barriers for someone in Australia, preferably a government-funded company, to start here, outside of the tyrannical subvert-subvert-subvert mentality of.... THE IMF?

Nevertheless, it struck me months ago that telcos such as Telstra, Optus, Vodaphone et al, cannot possibly maintain their businesses and ruthless profiteering (Telstra???) with such legitimate and economical internet telephonic companies available as alternatives to the corporate-based 'rip-'em-off-when-and-wherever-we-can' telephony models, if cheap, online telephony pathways, such as Skype, Aussie-owned or not, grow in popularity?

So, having just read the headline “Telstra to axe 950 jobs” (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/10/28/3050716.htm), Telstra and the likes, cannot hope to retain their share of the telephony market, and so will have to cut jobs.

Reading the news article, which said Telstra will be slimming-down for a more efficient decision and management system, etc., with some 6,000 jobs cut over the next 3 years, perhaps the Telstra war-office has been reading tea-leaves, as well as noticing already, a significant and expected-growth in customers deserting it for the Skype internet model?

If Skype IS having already an effect on Telstra, it will be the same across all telcos.

If so, are we witnessing the demise and death of those profit-centred, and not-very-customer/user-friendly services?

For the fact that they, Telstra, in years passed, have been infiltrated, undermined and illegally used by more than just Australia's 'secret services', and through their demonic behaviour have drained me of a lot of money, I hope so!

And..., I'm CERTAIN, many many, many many other Australians will concur!

Such illegal interferences and monitoring of people's private and business affairs is only ever brought about because the monitors are paid and commissioned to keep tabs on those of us, Outlaws, who rail AGAINST the dominant corruption, as run by the 'new world order' of OFFSHORE scumbags who thrive and profit from corruption.

Were the world NOT a den of super-rich thieves, who the vast majority are forced to serve, and the world was possessed of some sanity, run by Wise Elders and not the ruthless rich, we would not need secret services who work more for big oil, big pharma, big real estate, big weapons, etc etc etc.

But that's me running off at the keyboard AGAIN!!

ALAS! A new disease!

Keyboardhititis! Where a sufferer cannot stop hitting the keys like a fanatic!

Nevertheless, back to telephony....

As I writ above.... Surely there are no barriers for someone, preferably a government-funded company, to start here (in Astrayliar)?

It would not appear, from this tree-hugger's outpost, to be beyond a small group of Aussie Geeks, Nurds, and an AUSTRALIAN media mogul, to configure the technology, software and business-plan, for AN AUSTRALIAN OWNED cheap internet telephone service.

That no-one here has yet, shows how fucking lazy and un-entrepreneurial we are.

Do we thank the NSW (IMF) rum club(s) for this tragic and unAustralian state-of-affairs?

YES-WE-DO!!!

Perhaps this idea, along with most business ventures and beginnings, belongs to the federal government to put out tenders for?

Telstra, to-be-sure, would die jumping-up-and-down against government doing so, but since the tyrannical Howard government sold Telstra down-the-shithole, to the demons of offshore thieves, Telstra has been slowly dying anyway.

Like it's share-price, shares flogged to gullible, if-not-Patriotic Aussie investors!

Good on yer John!

And on...., technology and all-things-internet....?

It seems to me to be almost conspiratorial (Nah! NE-VAH!!!), that the vast majority of computer and software specialists, nurds, geeks, techies, etc., get their 'in' to that field of making an easy squillion, and thus to having the unfair advantage over the majority, mainly from government schools, in being able to sell, service, maintain and update computer and electronic equipment hardware and soft, through the private church school cabal?

This is about as democratic and egalitarian as our steeply lopsided agriculture, or FARMING industry, where the whole nation is as-much, held-to-ransom by the 3-or-so% of us who are farmers!

(AND THE LATEST NEWS IS, we have become a nation which IMPORTS more food than we EXPORT!!!)

DERRRR?%^&?

(Argh! The virtues of CRAPITALISM!!!)

The 'specialist imbalance' is great for the lucky ones whose parents slogged away in real estate or such, selling the farm and all integrity to afford to put their babies through an upclub, 'brudderbond-type' private church school, but as with farming, the imbalance grows way out of proportion and we are left with the majority (unable to grow their own tucker, and) in technology, unable to fix most-often the simplest of problems of our ever-increasing dependence on electronicalismssssz.

Our waste repositories, the rubbish tips, are as a consequence, overflowing with electronic junk, most of which is classified as junk because one teensie-weensie little component has blown.

NOTHING to do with it being DESIGNED to blow after a very short lifespan?

Am I suggesting PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE???

YES I AM!

In an Intelligent Community, there'd be at least a few home-handifolk, no more than a short walk away, with the insight and knowhow to fix 90%-PLUS of the electronic stuff of the neighbours, when it puffs smoke, or just won't boot-up.

As it is, if one's camcorder, computer, TV-toaster-washing machine-coffee-maker-CD-player, or mobile phoney laughs at you, the item has to be sent to some far-away service centre, always in your nearest major city, and usually planted nowhere near public transport.

The cost to the consumer in time, transportation, fuel, deprivation of something to lose-yourself-in, REPAIRS, and the always there extra-expenses, really does have a part to play in making all of us more inefficient, frustrated, and ready to explode in the next traffic jam.

Argh! The virtues of CRAPITALISM!

Thanks, your friendly 'new world disorder'!

Then, once you've lost it and bashed the wife, kids, neighbour, pizza-boy and anyone else within range, the psyche-services OH! SSSSSpecialists trained in OH! Some clubby, secretive and fundamentally evil private church school, are on your doorstep saying “we're here to help you!”

????

Just the same as the covens who fund and support our farmers (HAHAHAHAHA!!!) specialist industries and slavish concepts of 'a job' etcetcetcetc!?

So..., were the federal government on the ball, they'd get a head-start in technology, electronic communications and equipment by introducing across all GOVERNMENT Schools, courses from early years, in electronics and allied fields, teaching kids how to maintain and employ their modern equipment for fun and an income.

And..., they'd do well to put a bit aside for an inquiry into tomorrow's telephony needs and growth, away from the rude, profiteering telco corporate models.

'Old kings models' of keeping the masses poor by dumbing-down education.

This, internet telephone pathway, as-it-happens, would seem to support the ALP/Greens government's 'National Broadband Network' NBN.

But, oooh? We're a bit too soft, to ware THAT! Aye, Tiny Habit and Malturn the Bull?

'Argh? HELLO!'

'Oh..., @#$%^&*! It's dropped-out-jammed-shit-itself-fried-a-circuit AGAIN!!!?'

Ummm..., it's the SWITCH we need.

As the internet has just gone real slow, I guess it has to be said, that nothing in this piece, nor in my thinks-cabinet, really has anything against Telstra, (ASIO? That's another matter!) It is merely pointing out the inevitable, in terms of the direction telephony is going.

I suppose it would be kinda sad that Telstra and the other services could crash due to new technology, but hey! That's Life-on-the-wire!

Chinese garbage, Kmart and rip-off retailing at it's worst.

I'd just like to fling a few words around, about products made in China, and sold in K-mart.

I needed a "jigsaw" a few months ago, just to do a few minor sawing jobs. Not needing it for much, I went to Kmart, and blew $22 on a special from OH! China.

Got it back to the ute, plugged it in, and it lasted about 30 seconds, then went zzzzIIIING into overdrive-cause-the gears-fell to pieces!

I broke the warranty, cause I was in the bush, and pulled it apart - unscrewed the self-tappers.

Yep! The gears had disengaged.

Why?

Well, it WAS only $22?

But you'd kinda expect it to work for a few minutes, even at $22?

Further inspection found a design flaw. I attempted to remedy it... but..., zing..., zing..., ZIIIIIIINNNNGG!

Like a false neutral on a Kwaka 2-stroke!

Why????

Why do Chinese manufacturers bother making such shit?

Why does Kmart buying department buy such shit?

Why does Australian Standards allow such crap into the country?

Why do idiots like me play false economics by spending $22 on a $0.50 cent piece of shit?

I thought, in my defense, it would do, for a few small jobs.

The Chinese makers laugh at Kmart for having such idiots in their buying department.

The Australian government and their product Standards section is asleep at the helm, cannot keep up with the crap any rip-off retailer chooses to import and flog to gullible customers, and the Chinese government are a bunch of utter liars when they profess to be going Green at full steam ahead, when they allow their nation's companies to make such garbage, which the makers know will be on the rubbish heap in less than a year.

The Apocalypse?

BRING IT ON...!

If nothing else..., Armageddon will put an end to those irascible bastards who are rooting everything with their demented "planned obsolescence"!

What say you, President Hu Jintao, of China?
Prime Minister Wen Jaobao?

It seems, at least one thing the USA does well, is make GOOD QUALITY tools. But Australia's utterly corrupt Customs department, and whichever department imposes import duties on overseas products (departments owned by the IMF) ensure we pay through the nose for anything of quality here.

Not a problem for the top 25% of Australians.

Also, our IMF governments of the passed 50 years, have used taxation and planning to bring third world nations out of poverty and up to speed in such as manufacturing, and in the process have destroyed all incentives for Australians to manufacture ANYTHING.

Another good reason for us to become a Republic.

But, I'd like to say see ya later China, I'm over the crap you flog us. But I know I refuse to collect my inheritance (What price, Honor!?), and therefore will in future not be able to afford good quality products, like an Apple computer, or a quality angle grinder, or other stuff.

But really, China, after all I've done for you???

It's not too much to ask that you try to lift the standards and quality of your exports.

I talk about ME falling for "false economy" in buying junk products, but the same applies both to the company and to the nation whence it is exported, when the stuff is made so badly that it is almost immediately a waste product.

Markets ain't all good markets......

I hope I can afford a quality angle grinder tomorrow?

Planned Obsolescence and Hard Pollution.

Planned Obsolescence and Hard Pollution.
By Omaxa bin Eartha.
07/02/10.

It's hard being a Green Revolutionary.

Victories are few, and each day brings more awareness of an apparent futility in the fight to save the planet's natural environment.

Whether it's bushfires wiping Eartha's lungs off her Holy Orb, or cattle farmers, monocrop agricultural malpractices, corporate fishing enterprises, or every city and energy-consuming source of modern day information, every jet or propeller aeroplane flying overhead, and even trippers on motorbikes scampering menacingly around the reforests, the odds constantly seem great, and reversing the carnage an impossibility.

Yesterday, serfing the 'net news, I landed on a chance to ask the head of Toyota USA about the corporation's existence and more, I s'pose. I clicked-on, but couldn't be bothered signing on to Facebook, so quit.

The 1st thing that popped into my Green head, was to have a go at him, and thus the world's largest motor vehicle corporation, about the utterly unsustainable phenomenon he heads, and to ask and urge him/them to turn Green.

Surely, I let my naivety think, being the biggest motor corp on Earth, puts them in the director's chair, to SOME degree, and thus in a place where they can, that-is CAN say which way the industry-generally, goes?

Primarily, I was thinking, via the renewable polycarbonate path of using hemp for motor vehicle panels, and other parts. Parts which to now rely on mined, polluting, oil-based plastics, which are totally unnecessary when enviro-friendly options exist?

In one of my lexiconical dreamings, where I bring-down, from the Ether, ideations about the future on Earth, I created, post-apocalypse, a motorcycle, which had most of it's parts made from locally researched, grown and manufactured hemp polycarbonates.

Not my idea of course. Henry Ford made the panels of a motorcar from hemp and flax I think, in the 1930s or so. I recall seeing a photo of him wielding a sizeable sledge hammer at the front quarter-panel, made from hemp polycarbonate. I think the text caption read that the hammer bounced-off, and did not leave a mark, and certainly not a dent! Umm.., the “dent” immediately popped-back-out!

In my exile, I'm by no means up-to-date on the advances that exist in that field of hemp polycarbonates, and can be sure that any major advances are kept secreted from popular view by the monster metals and mining cartels, run, of course by the arseholes of the IMF. Hello Mr K! Mr Bond!

Mr Toyota as well, one would expect?

Nevertheless..., this morning I had a look at repairing a small torch which has passed it's use-by date, because the plastics in it are designed to wear-out or break after a year or two. As well, it's “micro” design, means that the connectors and the brackets which fit together inside, break after a short while.

I guess I've given up on that little piece of equipment.

Sure, I only paid about $10 for it. That, however, was after not buying exactly the same product from another shop, which had a $30 price tag on it.

Looking over the new item in the 1st shop, it was clear that there wasn't the quality worthy of $30, and I felt “victorious” when I found the 2-dollar shop around the corner, and the 2/3rds cheaper price.

A retort one has to expect when buying products which have designed-in short lifespans, is that by paying MORE, one will get a longer-lasting product.

This is no doubt the case. But this misses the point, methinks.

The point is that producing low-quality products today, where the planet is lurching toward collapse because of human's over consumption and the consequent waste, pollution, junk products cannot be justified.

Surely the majority of Humans can't afford “expensive” and apparently “high-quality” items, and as we are forced, by the global undercurrent of media, advertising, corporate and “keep-up-with-the-Joneses” pressures, in the most sinful nation – Australia – at least, we can't survive in the society without acquiring the modern appliances and lesser bits of daily-used equipment.

But, typical of the evil Christian culture, we are persuaded to neglect the effects of our excessively desirous “must-have-it” approach, and are fooled to believe that we will be forgiven at the “pearly-gates” for our wasteful lives.

The cult's founder-Prophet, Jeshua ben Joseph, apparently said “Forgive them Lord, for they are all hypnotized idiots!”

No-one reads that as saying “YOU forgive them Lord, I'm buggered if I will!”

And, as we are at perhaps the species' most serious epoch, where all life on Earth is in the balance, primarily because we have been induced, seduced and forced to be sinful slaves to materialism and over-consumption, I doubt that the future's generations will forgive those of us who blindly, selfishly and utterly stupidly consume product that is designed to break or wear-out in the short times they do?

Again, it is NO coincidence, that the most materialistic and thus wasteful culture in all of Earth's Human history – is Christian!

Sure! Japan, Toyota's homeland, is Earth's 2nd biggest economy, and they ain't exactly Christian?

But they are now also in the biggest bucket of financial debt, etc? Made so by the “Macarthur Plan” post world-war-2, which forced Japan to abandon Her Ancient and Highly Disciplined, SUSTAINABLE Culture for the market-driven ideology of the USA-read-the moguls of Britain and Eurape.

Recent reports say that China is leading the world in turning Green, but..... how can that be, when an enormous amount of the stuff, designed to last only a short time, we apparently NEED to survive in the modern world is produced there?

Perhaps 70% of everything I own is made in China, and most of it is either made of plastics and the like which do not last, in their appropriate roles, as the torch I tried to repair (and have repaired for the 5th time, because I tenaciously defy the “modern” throw-away trend).

Decades ago, I was made aware that China and the developing world had to enter the world's “products” manufacturing marketplace, in order to lift their economies, and thus the people's standard of living into the new era of modernism, etc.

This has been the venture of the IMF for decades, which, all things considered, is an honorable and reasonable thing to attempt.

No-one can say to one people or another that they cannot participate in the advances the world invents or researches into existence.

This, may be the 1st time I've ever offered compliments to the IMF, for this global plan?

Perhaps the “plan” is centuries old? Dante? One world government, ideated a 1000 years ago?

Rome? Emperor Constantine? The 4th century Councils of Nicea, which corrupted the original Teachings and Tenets of the early followers of Jeshua ben Joseph?

Adam Kadman, Moses? “The Chosen Tribe”?

Are today's multinational corporations' the end-product of 6000 years of Hebrew planning to bring the world together?

Could be? But..... the evidence appears to say that we have gone too far in abusing the environment, and that only a few of us will survive into the “22nd”, “23rd” centuries and beyond.

So what price, living an over-consuming lifestyle, and to who's final victory?

Therefore, what price, living a Deep Green lifestyle, so that the future will be one with forests and lots of biodiversity for the 'morrow's peoples to happily enjoy?

These are a few reasons why I live away from mainstream culture and people, and why I stubbornly fight to slow, at least, the degradation of the environment.

So...!

Planned obsolescence?

Now that the 3rd world, or most of Asia, and an increasing proportion of the rest of the undeveloped world, is/are “online” in terms of modernization, surely it is time, all things considered, for them to look to reducing their low-quality products.

The new era has improved everything in terms of resourcing better product quality, and China's manufacturing plants, to a large degree, have higher quality equipment, so they can make higher quality products.

So, we, they and all the manufacturing nations of the new world, really have no excuse for not making products which will last 4, 5, TEN times longer than the majority of things the majority of Humans can afford.

For China to NOT take this Intelligent course of action to minimizing pollution, soft-and-hard, by eliminating planned obsolescence, makes a mockery of their attempts, which I prefer to believe are genuine, to “Go Green”, and shows that they are not really serious in that new day venture.

As for the United States, Toyota, and every other manufacturer and government, INCLUDING AUSTRALIA's, saying they are working to clean-up the environment and the way we live, HO-FUCKING-HO-FUCKING-HO?!?!?!?!?!?!

The dependence upon mined metals and oils and other base products is/was a phenomenon of a low-tech era – the industrial revolution's aftermath, an era which served to bring the world into the new day of today's amazing capabilities.

It is passed time we ALL moved forward and left the "old kings'" ways behind us.

As an aside, one wonders how much of a reduction in power-production and energy consumption Australia might make, were we to modernize our electricity grid and all our appliances by changing from 240 volts to 120 volts?

To save spending on a household-full or office-full of, or other, new 120 volt equipment, all each end-user would need is a 120 volt-to-240 volt inverter.

Am I right in suspecting that a reduction from 240 volts to 120 volts AC would mean halving the energy production requirements?

It seems to me, that Australia standardized our electricity grid at 240 volts to counter or cater for the long distances it had to travel from power station to cities and other outlets. Households, industry etc.

But it probably had something to do also with the fact that our masters in Britain had, for a long time used 220 volts.

Again, from the old, low technology era, post the industrial revolution. Today's vastly improved electricity cabling and general distributor technology must surely enable reducing the need to produce 240 volts. But, I am a dickhead a bit, because high voltage in the order of 1000s of volts is how the electricity is shunted from power station to city, etc., and the volts are reduced at or near to the destination, I think?

NEVERTHELESSSS......?

The IMF's multinational mining corporations like Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, etc., must turn the corner of 21st century REALPolitikal thinking, and engineer themselves away from the iron-age of using non-renewable minerals and metal ores for our consumable products, and with that change of direction, that turning the corner to drive sustainably down Green Street, all manufacturers have to bring themselves up-to-speed in terms of the new day way of economic thinking and behaving, by eliminating planned obsolescence from their manufacturing ideologies.

For I put it that by far the majority of our hard pollution, the stuff which ends up in the back corner of our garden shed, after a disgustingly short lifespan, and eventually in the council garbage dump – er – sorry – refuse station – stuff which just makes waste of the environment, is the result of planned obsolescence.

Micro-technology is all-very-well, but when things are so small that they cannot be repaired or even serviced, and so once they break-down are but wasted, high-tech stuff which fits neatly in the palm of our hand, defeats itself and the macro planetary concerns.

And the end-game of the macro planetary concerns, is ensuring that the species and the biodiversity upon which the species depends, live-on, into perpetuity.

All things have to be, and can be, considered, here.

For ages I've felt that no thing should have just one purpose. All forms of packaging should be reusable.

Back to that motorcycle I dreamed-up in my sci-fi future wanderings of mind, it not only transported THREE people, with a lo-ong seat, but it also had a 2000watt, 12 volt DC-to-120 volt AC inverter inboard, as well as an air compressor and ability to power machinery via a belt drive attachable to the rear wheel.

This, it seems to a clear mind, is the way of the Green future, where everything is “Mu-Fu” or multi-functional, but is also made from renewables, and which can perhaps even be recycled OR REPAIRED, once broken or worn-out.

The race to get the 3rd world out of undeveloped poverty and squaller, is in fact a furphy, a falsity, for mostly all that race does, is carry us further away from our Ethical selves, and into sinful degradation. Not only of our own Souls, but of the planet and all it's biodiverse lives.

The long story of the Chosen Tribes seem to me to be the story of a peoples who were, for some mysterious reason – alas! - part once more, of the big Cosmic Plan for this tiny planet - kept landless, a sad reality which forced them to be inventive and cunning, and, in the end, somewhat divisive.

The many many peoples elsewhere on the planet who were not forced off their homelands, were able to be Happy and Content for eons and eons, whilst living entirely Honorable lifestyles and Harmoniously with the natural world, the natural environment, and, were the inventive “modern” world to never have been made manifest, nor to have invaded, would have lived Blissful lives in their “Gardens of Wisdom” for eons and eons into the future.

It cannot be said that we are the only occupants of this universe. Thus it has to be expected that, were humanity to exist on for thousands of years yet, we would come into contact with other intelligent species.

How they or we would be enabled to travel across space to interact is not, I say, dependent upon hard material products like space shuttles and NASA rockets etc., but was something known about and achieved by the Ancients, through their telepathic abilities.

That the western, Judeo-Christian world has just recently become aware, en-masse, of our own innate occult talents, powers and abilities, just shows us how far behind we have been, in terms of firstly, “Knowing Thy Self”, (“Forgive them Lord, for they are all hypnotised idiots!”), but secondly of what we are capable of, without the superficial aid of technological equipment, and the materialist delusions of hard pollution.

Any plans which engender disrespect of the primary habitat, to the point of it's destruction, cannot be Sound, or True, or Good for the future sustainability of the species, and as likely, are but delusion if we are led to believe we need them to be able to either travel intergalacticly or to fight off aggressive aliens.

If aliens did come to Earth 1000s of years ago, and still threaten our existence, then our apparent race to come-up-to-speed technologically to defend ourselves, is a trick, for, it is, as the Goons used to say, “all in the mind, you know?”!

Therefore it is time we ended the profit-driven farce of planned obsolescence in the material products we consume, and tuned our focus to our Inner Strengths of the mind, where all Happiness is rooted and sustained.

So! MISTER TOYOTA? where's that True Environmentally Friendly motorcar, MADE FROM HEMP?????

Where you lead, others, and even governments, will follow! A position, therefore, which carries enormous Responsibility!

Get on the Train, Nippon!

China! South Korea! United, or is that "Untied" States of America?

PS: Sorry for the "typo's"!

Green, grow the rushes O!
